One on Top of the Other (1969)

aka Perversion Story
Italian title: Una sull'altra
dir. Lucio Fulci

The Dumurrier clinic – The Lodge at Pebble Beach, 1700 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, California. Many thanks to CashmereLibrarian for her help.

George Dumurrier (Jean Sorel) visiting his mistress Jane (Elsa Martinelli) – Lombard Street just east of Hyde Street, San Francisco, California. This section of Lombard was dubbed "the crookedest street in the world." The other San Francisco competitor for this title, Vermont Street between 20th and 22nd, is steeper than Lombard but has fewer turns.

George and Jane driving on the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California. Topographically, it doesn’t make sense because if Jane lives on Lombard, there’s no need to cross the bridge to get to the Southern Pacific Station.

George drops Jane off at the railway station – Southern Pacific Station, 3rd Street at Townsend, San Francisco, California. The splendid Mission Revival-style station was demolished in the 1970s as the railroad was getting out of the passenger service business. Incidentally, it stood right across the street from the burger joint where Clint Eastwood uttered the famous "Go ahead, make my day" line in Sudden Impact. However, by the time Eastwood’s film was made, the station site had already been an empty lot.

George stops by a gas station to ask for directions to San Luis Obispo – 1177 California Street, San Francisco, California. The gas station, also seen briefly in Bullitt, is no longer there.

George meeting Jane at the railway station – 1011 Railroad Avenue, San Luis Obispo, California.

An insurance investigator sees George calling from a restaurant – Fishermen’s Grotto, 2847 Taylor Street, San Francisco, California.

George exits a parking garage – 425 Broadway, San Francisco, California. The original structure has since been demolished though there’s still a parking lot in its place.

George sees Monica Weston (Marisa Mell) performing at a night club – Varni's Roaring 20s, 807 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, California. The building still stands but it’s barely recognizable, stripped of its glorious stained-glass windows. The club also appeared in Experiment in Terror and Machine Gun McCain, and is not to be confused with the current Roaring 20s at 552 Broadway that appeared in Dirty Harry.
